Watertight backs world-first electric expedition

Watertight is proud to be supporting Dr Ed Barsley - environmental designer and climate-resilience specialist - as he prepares for The Electric Overland Expedition – an ambitious 18,000-mile journey through 20 countries and across six continents.

Setting off from Pall Mall in central London on 27 March 2027, Ed will travel in Evie, an electrified 1955 Series I Land Rover, as he attempts the first-ever circumnavigation of the world in an electric classic car.

Watertight is one of a small group of organisations supporting the expedition and we will contribute property flood-resilience and water-risk expertise to selected features along the route.

An adventure of this scale requires meticulous preparation; Ed will need to understand the conditions he may encounter, anticipate potential challenges and make sure the right equipment and plans are in place.

It is an approach that closely reflects Watertight’s own work: effective Property Flood Resilience starts with understanding the risks facing an individual property. The right combination of measures can then be carefully selected, designed and installed to reflect its circumstances – although even Watertight’s most far-flung installations do not usually add up to 18,000 miles!
