South Yorkshire Housing Retrofit Meeting

Watertight colleagues Toni Clarke and Mark Arrowsmith MCIWEM were invited to present at the South Yorkshire Housing Retrofit Meeting in Sheffield this week.

The session brought together members of the South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority, alongside senior representatives from housing and retrofit organisations working across Barnsley, Doncaster, Rotherham and Sheffield. The focus of the meeting was on how retrofit programmes can support safer, more resilient homes for the future.

Watertight was invited to share insight into an area that is becoming increasingly important within retrofit conversations: how Property Flood Resilience (PFR) measures can be successfully integrated into housing retrofit strategies.

During the presentation, Toni and Mark discussed practical examples of how PFR can be incorporated into existing properties, the types of measures available and how early consideration within retrofit planning can deliver long-term benefits for both housing providers and residents.

A big thank you to the South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority for inviting us to contribute to such an important conversation.
