Strengthening the Team: Reece Hewitt Joins Watertight
We’re delighted to welcome Reece Hewitt to Watertight International as a new Commercial Site Surveyor.
Reece joins us with a great blend of academic depth, regulatory experience and hands-on flood risk practice. With a Master’s degree from Lancaster University in volcanology and geological hazards, early career experience in environmental health at Kirklees Council, and four years as a flood risk consultant specialising in Property Flood Resilience (PFR), he brings exactly the kind of thinking that complex commercial sites demand.
Reece’s career began in environmental health, working with local businesses on pollution control, water sampling, river testing and waste compliance. That grounding in legislation, real-world site assessment and community impact naturally led him into the flood risk sector.
For four years, Reece has developed deep expertise in site surveys, flood risk assessments and PFR installations, and has become a registered surveyor on the CIWEM PFR Professional Specialist Register.
In his role as Commercial Site Surveyor, Reece will be leading surveys across commercial buildings, with a particular focus on schools and educational settings.
Talking about his appointment with Watertight, Reece said: “Having worked alongside Watertight through framework partnerships and site collaboration, I already knew the team and the high standards of work that Watertight is known for. I’ve been really impressed by how welcoming and friendly everyone is. The company is rapidly expanding into all areas, including education and commercial, and I’m excited to be part of that journey.”
Welcoming Reece to the Watertight team, CEO Gareth Boyd said: “Reece’s passion for hazard assessment, bespoke designs and SuDS integration fits perfectly with Watertight’s mission to help mainstream PFR across the UK - raising standards, building confidence and better protecting communities from increasing flood risks. We are delighted to have Reece on board.”
